Women Waxing

Women’s Waxing in Greensborough

Waxing Ninja is a specialist waxing studio in Greensborough, in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, providing Brazilian waxing and intimate waxing for women. Every appointment is carried out by the same CIDESCO-accredited specialist, a USA-licensed Master Skin Therapist with over 15 years of clinical waxing experience and more than 60,000 waxing treatments completed across the USA and Australia. A women’s Brazilian wax removes all hair from the pubic area, between and behind, in a single appointment, with bikini, extended bikini and G-string waxing available as lighter options.

Skin sensitivity shifts across the menstrual cycle. Discomfort during waxing is typically lowest in the week after a period ends and highest in the days just before and during it, so booking an appointment in that calmer window is one of the simplest ways to make a Brazilian wax more comfortable. The underlying skin biology, including the histamine response and aftercare, is explained in full on the Waxing page.

Every treatment uses single-use spatulas with 100% no double-dipping. Each spatula touches the skin once before being discarded, so used wax is never returned to the pot and cross-contamination between clients is prevented.

Brazilian Waxing and Popular Combinations

Beyond the combinations, other waxing services for women include full leg waxing, three-quarter leg waxing, arm waxing, buttocks waxing, thigh waxing and face waxing.

Women’s Waxing Questions, Answered

Can you get a Brazilian wax on your period?

Yes. A Brazilian wax can be done during menstruation, provided a clean tampon is worn. Skin is more sensitive at this time due to hormonal fluctuations, so booking 3 to 5 days after a period ends tends to be more comfortable where timing allows. The appointment stays private and discreet throughout.

Is Brazilian waxing safe during pregnancy?

Brazilian waxing is commonly carried out throughout pregnancy and is widely considered safe. Skin can be more sensitive and blood flow to the area increases, so some additional tenderness is normal. Anyone with a high-risk pregnancy or specific concerns is encouraged to check with a midwife or doctor first, and to mention the pregnancy when booking so the appointment can be set up for comfort.

Does the first Brazilian wax hurt, and what should be expected?

A first Brazilian wax is uncomfortable rather than unbearable for most people. It is a brief sting, not a pain. In client feedback at Waxing Ninja, 93% of first-time waxing clients reported less discomfort than expected. Loose clothing and timing the appointment outside the most sensitive part of the menstrual cycle both help. Hair should be around 1 cm long for the best result, not shorter and preferably not longer.

Do numbing creams work before waxing?

Numbing creams are generally discouraged before waxing. The cream leaves a film on the skin that can stop the wax gripping the hair properly, which lowers the quality of the result. Timing the appointment well within the menstrual cycle and arriving relaxed tend to work better without compromising the wax.

Can waxing be done on Roaccutane or other skin medications?

Oral anti-acne medications, including isotretinoin sold as Roaccutane, are a strong contraindication to waxing. A wait of 6 months off the oral medication is required before any waxing can be done, because these medications can compromise skin integrity and sensitivity. This wait applies for the client’s protection. Topical retinoids such as tretinoin, Differin and retinol, along with strong AHA or BHA exfoliant products, should also be raised when booking so suitability can be confirmed beforehand.
